Algeria-Jordan: Common will to raise bilateral relations to higher levels

ALGIERS- King Abdullah II of Jordan starts as from Saturday a two-day State visit to Algeria at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
 
“At the invitation of his brother President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Hussein of brotherly country Jordan starts a two-day State visit to Algeria, as from Saturday 3 December 2022,” according to the statement.
 
King Abdullah II bin Hussein of Jordan arrives in Algiers
ALGIERS- King Abdullah II bin Hussein of Jordan arrived Saturday in Algiers for a two-day visit to Algeria, at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The King of Jordan was welcomed upon his arrival in Houari Boumediene international airport of Algiers by the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
President Tebboune awards King Abdullah II of Jordan national order of merit medal “El Athir”
ALGIERS-President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune awarded, on Saturday, national order of merit “El Athir” to King Abdullah II bin Hussein, ruler of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, said the Presidency of the Republic in a statement.
His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Hussein decorated, for his part, President Tebboune with the Supreme Order of the Renaissance (the second knighthood order of the Kingdom of Jordan), the highest Jordanian civil royal distinction awarded to presidents, the same source said.
The Jordanian Sovereign started on Saturday a two-day state visit to Algeria at the invitation of President Tebboune.
 
Jordanian King Abdallah II receives PM
ALGIERS-King Abdullah II bin Hussein of Jordan received, on Saturday evening, in his residence in Algiers, Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane, who paid him a courtesy visit.
The Jordanian Sovereign began his two-day state visit to Algeria at the invitation of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
 
King Abdullah II of Jordan pays tribute to martyrs of National Liberation War
ALGIERS-King Abdullah II of Jordan paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the National Liberation War at the Martyrs' Memorial in Algiers on Sunday.
He laid a wreath of flowers in front of the commemorative stele and paid tribute to the martyrs of the glorious National Liberation War.
King Abdullah II, who was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, also visited the National Museum of the Mujahedeen where he received detailed explanations on the history of Algeria and its struggle against colonialism for the liberation of the country.
 
President Tebboune holds talks with King of Jordan, Abdullah II
ALGIERS-President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune held one-on-one talks Sunday, in Algiers, with King Abdullah II bin Hussein, ruler of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who is on a State visit to Algeria.
Earlier, President Tebboune officially welcomed King Abdullah II at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic.
King Abdullah II visited a detachment of the Republican Guard who paid him the honors.
 
Jordanian King Abdullah II receives Army General, Said Chanegriha
ALGIERS- The King of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Hussein, received on Saturday evening at his residence in Algiers, Chief of Staff of the People' s National Army (ANP), Army General Said Chanegriha, who paid him a courtesy visit.
The Jordanian Ruler had begun his two-day state visit to Algeria at the invitation of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
 
Algeria-Jordan: Common will to raise bilateral relations to higher levels
ALGIERS- The state visit that King Abdullah II bin Hussein of Jordan started on Saturday in Algeria, at the invitation of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is an opportunity to concretize the common will of both countries to raise bilateral relations to higher levels on the basis of a solid cooperation.
The revival of cooperation mechanisms and the preparation of the holding of the 9th session of the Joint Commission between the two countries were the main topics discussed during the talks, held last October, between Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, after a long absence due to measures related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Several agreements between the two countries must be relaunched and implemented on the ground," said Lamamra at the time.
For his part, Safadi stressed Jordan's willingness to "develop bilateral relations in the best interests of the two brotherly countries," noting "broad prospects for cooperation in various areas," including  economy, trade, investment, tourism and education.
The two officials further agreeed to set up a working group under the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries to prepare the ground for a broader membership.
The installation, last March, of the parliamentary Algerian-Jordanian group of fraternity and friendship was an additional achievement for the deep and secular relations that are based the support provided by the Kingdom of Jordan to Algeria during the War of Liberation.
 
Algeria, Jordan sign agreements, MoU
 
ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune and King Abdullah II of Jordan chaired Sunday, in Algiers, the signing ceremony of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
 
A memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations was signed, in addition to an agreement on the mutual visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic passports, a memorandum of understanding between the Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDRI) and the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy as well as a cooperation programme between the Algerian news agency APS and the Jordanian news agency PETRA.
 
The two sides also signed an agreement on the mutual recognition of sailing training certificates, education programmes and of maritime training standards.
